The first staged performance of The Nutcracker took place in St. Petersburg, Russia, on December 18, 1892, and was a collaborative effort between the great composer Tchaikovsky and the legendary choreographer Marius Petipa. Now the Nutcracker re-imagined by Polar Express author and Grand Rapids and native Chris Van Allsburg, with choreography by Val Caniparoli, returns to dazzle once more this year!
