Grand Rapids Symphony - Seductive Ravel

Why see Grand Rapids Symphony - Seductive Ravel?

Ravel's Masterful Romance Celebrated At The DeVos This March

The Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra present a very special event featuring one of their favorite pieces to play, coming to the DeVos Performance Hall for two nights only in March 2026! Playing the full length edition of Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe, Seductive Ravel is a heartfelt celebration of one of the composer's most sumptuous and romantic works.

Daphnis et Chloe has become renowned as one of Ravel's most expressive and beautiful works, and with good reason. Originally composed for a ballet, the work focuses on a classical Greek romance between a goatherd and shepherdess, who are aided in their love by the god Pan. It has long been regarded as a masterpiece of the Impressionist era - so it's little wonder that this is one of the Grand Rapids Symphony's favorite pieces to perform.
